A meaningful tender comparison checks the work behind the total. Put each proposal beside one current brief and resolve differences before selecting a contractor.

Align the design basis

Check the same drawing revisions, areas and assembly requirements are included. List quantities and assumptions that differ. Ask bidders to clarify omissions instead of assuming a lower number represents the same installation.

Compare project arrangements

Review preparation, protection, access, work hours and phasing. Include inspection support and return visits. These conditions can materially change the scope even when the product name is identical.

Resolve exclusions and changes

Identify who owns excluded tasks and how unforeseen conditions are approved. Record the accepted clarification in the final scope. Keep proposed alternatives separate until the design team has reviewed them.
